A ratchet lashing strap, also known as a ratchet tie-down or ratchet strap, is a heavy-duty fastening device used to secure cargo, equipment, or loads during transportation, storage, or handling. It consists of a high-strength polyester webbing strap and a metal ratchet mechanism, which allows the user to apply controlled tension to the strap, ensuring that the load remains tightly and safely held in place.
The polyester webbing is resistant to abrasion, UV rays, moisture, and stretching, making it ideal for use in various weather conditions and for securing heavy or irregularly shaped loads. The ratchet mechanism works by feeding the strap through a rotating gear and handle, which can be pumped to gradually increase tension without requiring excessive force from the user. Once the desired tightness is achieved, the handle locks in place, preventing the strap from loosening during transit.
