The manual pallet truck is operated via a handle that lifts and lowers the fork. This type of pallet truck is usually used for lifting small amounts of pallets, or in a small warehouse.A Pallet Truck, also known as a “pallet jack” or a “pallet pump”, is a basic form of forklift often used and best suited to a warehouse environment, for the moving of pallets and palletised loads.A manual pallet jack is a hand-powered jack most commonly seen in retail and personal warehousing operations. They are used predominantly for lifting, lowering and steering pallets from one place to another. A palette is that board that painters keep their paints on while painting (most traditionally, an oval one with a thumbhole for holding). The word pallet most commonly refers to a flat, square (often wood) platform used to hold goods for shipping (it's sometimes called a skid).The first, deriving from Middle English, refers to a mattress filled with straw or a hard bed for sleeping. That sense is not related to the wooden platform used for storing and shipping cartons. That word is derived from the Middle French palette (literally, “small shovel”).A pallet (also called a skid) is a flat transport structure, which supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift, a pallet jack, a front loader, a jacking device, or an erect crane. A pallet is the structural foundation of a unit load, which allows handling and storage efficiencies.Pallets exist in two general styles: single-face and double-face. Double-face pallets are comprised of decks on both top and bottom surfaces. The bottom deck increases the strength of the pallet, and helps evenly distribute the weight of the load. Double-face pallets come in two types: reversible and non-reversible.
