The Hemisphere Vega™ 28 GNSS Compass Board is a next-generation, high-precision GNSS module designed for advanced heading, positioning, and timing applications. Built with dual-antenna technology, the Vega 28 delivers fast, accurate heading over short baselines, centimeter-level RTK positioning, and sub-decimeter accuracy with Atlas® L-band corrections. Its compact form factor, low power consumption, and robust performance make it ideal for integration into marine, land, and aerial platforms where reliability and precision are critical. Powered by the Athena™ GNSS engine, the Vega 28 ensures best-in-class RTK performance with rapid initialization, strong multipath rejection, and Cygnus™ interference mitigation. It also integrates a multi-axis gyro and tilt sensor, providing stable heading and attitude data even during short GNSS outages. With RTK-enabled heave accuracy up to 5 cm RMS, it is particularly suited for marine and offshore applications requiring precise vessel motion compensation. The Vega 28 supports multi-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS signals including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC (IRNSS), ensuring global coverage and future-proof compatibility. Its 28-pin industry-standard form factor allows seamless migration from other modules, reducing integration time and cost. Key performance highlights include: Extremely accurate heading: 0.16° RMS @ 0.5 m antenna separation, scalable to 0.02° RMS @ 5 m separation. RTK accuracy: 8 mm + 1 ppm horizontal, 15 mm + 2 ppm vertical. Atlas® L-band corrections: from 50 cm down to 4 cm RMS accuracy. Heave accuracy: 30 cm RMS (DGNSS), 5 cm RMS (RTK). Pitch/Roll accuracy: 0.5° RMS. Update rate: 10 Hz standard, upgradeable to 20 Hz. Timing precision: 20 ns accuracy with PPS output. Connectivity is versatile with 3x CMOS serial ports, USB host/device, Ethernet (10/100 Mbps), 2x CAN (NMEA2000, ISO 11783), PPS output, and event inputs. Supported protocols include NMEA 0183, Hemisphere binary, RTCM v2.3/v3.2, CMR/CMR+, and proprietary ROX format. Designed for rugged environments, the Vega 28 operates from -40°C to +85°C, with compliance to CE, FCC, and CISPR 22 standards. Its compact size (71 x 46 x 10 mm, 24 g) and low power consumption (<2.5 W) make it suitable for UAVs, autonomous vehicles, precision agriculture, marine navigation, surveying, and defense applications.
