The gearless machine will have its wheel attached directly onto the electric motor to instantaneously rotate the drive sheave. As the drive sheave rotates, the elevator cab will raise and lower accordingly.Gearless elevator motors can be smaller than geared elevator motors because they do not have gears. The gearless motors can be smaller than 1⁄2 of the geared motor. This makes the gearless motors more effective when it comes to the use of electricity. By making the engine smaller, the other parts would also be smaller.The working principle of gearless traction machine is that to output the torque to traction sheave through the permanent-magnet synchronous motor, and then to drive the cabin through the friction between traction sheave and ropes.Thanks to not using a speed reducer, energy consumption with gearless technology is much lower in electric lifts than in lifts with traditional machines. This means lower electricity bills. Moreover, because they experience less wear and tear, these motors do not require constant repairs and they last longer.
