Deep Drawing is a process in sheet metal forming by the Hydraulic action of a punch. A flat sheet metal blank is formed over a single, rigid, shape defining tool half by a flexible rubber diaphragm under uniform hydro-static pressure. Also known as metal pressing, deep drawing is a sheet metal forming process which is typically done at room temperature. It uses radial tension-tangential compression to form the metal and is used in a press with other forming techniques, such as beading and coining.
