Hydraulic scissor lifts are a cost-effective and durable machine that uses an electric motor or other power sources to pressurize hydraulics to lift a payload. It typically consists of a sturdy base, a platform for the load, a configuration of scissor legs, a hydraulic cylinder, and a power source or motor.Most scissor lifts fall into two usage categories, rough terrain or slab. If the ground the scissor lift will be operating on is uneven and/or soft, then a rough terrain scissor would be required.Hydraulic lifts work on a basic principle: to go up, a pump pushes oil into the cylinder, pushing the piston (which pushes the lift car) up. To go down, the valve opens and oil is allowed to flow back into the reservoir, and is pushed back using the gravitational force of the lift car.A strength program needs to incorporate all three types of lifts to achieve balance and athleticism. The core lifts are the bench, the squat, and the dead lift.There are three main types of scissor lifts: slab lifts, rough-terrain lifts, and single-man lifts and platforms.The major difference between traction and hydraulic elevators is in the way the systems transport the cab. With traction elevators, the cab is raised and lowered by traction steel ropes or belts on a pulley system.
