Hydroxypropyl Starch Ether (HPS) is a modified starch-based polymer derived from natural sources and chemically treated to introduce hydroxypropyl groups. It is designed to enhance the performance of cement- and gypsum-based construction materials by improving workability, water retention, and consistency.Key Features: Improved Workability: Enhances the smoothness and application performance of dry-mix mortars and adhesives. High Water Retention: Reduces water loss into the substrate, ensuring proper hydration and curing of cementitious systems. Anti-Sagging Effect: Improves thixotropic properties, helping mortars maintain shape and reduce slippage on vertical surfaces. Enhanced Open Time: Extends the open time of tile adhesives and renders, allowing for greater flexibility during application. Compatibility: Works synergistically with other additives like cellulose ethers (e.g., HPMC), redispersible polymer powders (RDP), and fillers. Applications: Tile adhesives and grouts Wall putty (interior and exterior) Skim coats and leveling compounds Cement- and gypsum-based plasters EIFS (External Insulation Finishing Systems) Self-leveling floor compounds
