An ice bank is a package of Pillow Plates that is hung in a container with water. At night when the energy is low priced, the plates freeze the water in the tank. During the day when the power is more expensive, the cooler is turned off. The ice will melt into ice water.In the dairy industry, ice bank tanks are used for chilling water to 1°C. The chilled water is then used for cooling milk from its arrival temperature of between 5°C to 12°C down to a temperature of 4°C and also for cooling during the pasteurisation process.30-Mar-2011
