Heating of material by means of an electric current that is caused to flow through the material or its container by electromagnetic induction.Induction heating is used both domestic and commercial cooking, in several applications such as heat treating, soldering, preheating for welding, melting, shrink fitting in industry, sealing, brazing, curing, and in research and development.An electric current is passed through a coiled copper wire underneath the cooking surface, which creates a magnetic current throughout the cooking pan to produce heat. Because induction doesn't use a traditional outside heat source, only the element in use will become warm due to the heat transferred from the pan.
