J Type usually refers to the thermocouple type. A thermocouple is a sensor used to measure temperature. The J type thermocouple is made of Iron (Fe) and Constantan (Cu-Ni alloy). Temperature range: roughly 0°C to +750°C. Characteristics: Moderate temperature range. Affordable and widely used. Good for general-purpose industrial applications. 2. Ring Type / Washer Type This describes the physical shape of the sensor. Ring type (or washer type) sensors: Have a flat circular body with a hole in the center (like a washer).
