Kurkure are made by extrusion process. The kurkure corn meal is moisturized in the flour mixer with water and fed to the rotary die extruder. In the extruder, due to excess heat and pressure from the screws the meal gets heated and the moisture content gets reduced.Kurkure is a brand of corn puffs, developed and produced by Pepsico India. The snack is named after the Hindi word for "crunchy". Launched in 1999, this perfect 'namkeen' snack, developed entirely in India, has come to be identified with fun and lovable human quirks.And not to forget, it is very high in sodium. So it is not recommended for hypertensive and diabetic patients. It is also a reason for lung diseases and kidney disorders.
