Ink-Water Emulsification Tester is design according toInternational Standard ASTM D 4942, for determining the accuratepercentage of water absorbency by a specimen sample of Ink orVarnish (vehicle).The lithographic printing process requires that some dampeningsolution be emulsified into the ink. RH-II provide a rapid means fordetermining water pickup under laboratory conditions. Test resultsmay be useful for specification acceptance between the supplierand the customer.In order that results be comparable, the tests must be run at thesame temperature and with the same type and quantity of liquidadded prior to mixing.The emulsions obtained in these test methods are of largerparticle size than those typically produced in printing nips.Because of these and other variables in the printing process, waterpickup results do not by themselves predict lithographic printingperformance.ease of operation, reliable performance, has make itwidely acceptable by customer worldwide.
