A chiller is a machine that removes heat from a liquid coolant via a vapor-compression, adsorption refrigeration, or absorption refrigeration cycles, A water chiller is a device used to lower the temperature of water. For ideal plant health, a chiller can be used to lower the water temperature below ambient level, Liquid chiller is the specific term for water chillers that use a secondary refrigerant composed of water and antifreeze components. There are two heat exchangers involved in the chilled water loop: the evaporator and the cooling coil, A chilling plant is a mechanical device used to facilitate heat exchange from water to a refrigerant in a closed loop system. The refrigerant is then pumped to a location where the waste heat is transferred to the atmosphere, The high-pressure gas enters the condenser where ambient air or condenser water removes heat to cool it to a high-pressure liquid. The high-pressure liquid travels to the expansion valve, which controls how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator, thereby beginning the refrigeration cycle again
