In this verse Lord Krishna reveals that among cows He is manifested as the kamadhuk meaning kamadhenu the original wish fulfilling cows known as the surabhi cows.So, Krishna created a cow called Surabhi and a calf called Manoratha from the left side of his body, and milked the cow.Srila Prabhupada in his purport says,"For the cowherd men and the cows, Krishna is the supreme friend. Therefore He is worshipped by the prayer namobrahmanya-devaaya go-braahmana-hitaaya ca (Vishnu Purana 1.19. 65). His pastimes in Gokula, His dhaama, are always favorable to the braahmanas and the cows.There was a total of 108 different herds of cows. Each of the 108 herds had a herd leader. Mangala, Pingala, Ganga, Pisangi, Manikastani, Hamsi and Vamsipriya are the most important of the surabhi cows, who are all very dear to Lord Krsna.Although Hindus follow no single set of rules, reverence for cows can be found throughout the religion's major texts. Some trace the cow's sacred status back to Lord Krishna, one of the faith's most important figures.
