Pin Marking (or pin stamping) is the common phrase referring to a permanent, direct part marking process using a carbide pin to indent the marking surface with text, logos and 2D Data Matrix barcodes.For dot marking, as the gap between the stylus tip and the surface of the work piece increases, the depth of the mark will increase. If the difference in gap is only 1 to 2 mm (0.040″ to 0.080″) then the mark produced may be acceptable.A dot peen marking machine is used to imprint materials with a series of indentations to form permanent markings. This machine is most frequently used in industrial manufacturing applications when manufacturers need to mark products permanently.
