Silos are vertical storage tanks of large capacity, usually more than 30,000 to even upto 1 lakh liters. The agitation is by compressed air in such case .Raw milk tanks are insulated storage tanks for unprocessed raw milk. This is generally stored in large vertical tanks (silos) up to approximately 500m3. By means of side entry agitators, raw milk is kept in motion in order to prevent cream from forming. An angled bottom ensures good outflow.A dump tank is a vessel with a rectangular cross-section and an open top surface. It is work as a balance tank for milk in between the weigh bowl and milk chiller. Mostly it is used in dairy industries doing continuous milk processing.
