Monolayer blown film plants can be used to manufacture polymer films using a diverse range of polymers like PP, LD, LLD, HM, LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, EVA, EVOH and PA (Nylon), etc. Process. The plastic melt is extruded through a slit die.Blown films, also commonly known as tubular films, are created by extruding plastic through a tubular-shaped die and then stretched and blown with air to create a very thin-walled film. Polyethylenes such as LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE polymers are common resins that are used to create blown films.Plastic melt is extruded through an annular slit die, usually vertically, to form a thin walled tube. Air is introduced via a hole in the centre of the die to blow up the tube like a balloon. Mounted on top of the die, a high-speed air ring blows onto the hot film to cool it.The blow up ratio is simply the ratio of the final diameter of the tube relative to the die diameter. The amount the film is oriented in the machine direction is controlled by the draw down ratio (DDR), which is simply the ratio of the thickness of the extrudate exiting the die to the final film gauge.
