A latest concept in the water treatment technology, a Multi Grade Filter consists of vertical or horizontal pressure sand filters that contain multiple layers of coarse and fine sand (pebbles and gravels) in a fixed proportionThe multi-Grade filter (MGF) is generally used for the pretreatment in a purified water system. It is also used for post-treatment in ETP and STP. MGF removes the solid suspended particles from water.Multimedia filtration refers to a pressure filter vessel which utilizes three or more different media as opposed to a “sand filter” that typically uses one grade of sand alone as the filtration media.
