91000 74051 What it is: A single-component, high-build, fibre-reinforced, elastomeric acrylic coating designed for waterproofing roofs. It is applied in multiple layers (minimum 3 recommended) to form a seamless, flexible, and durable membrane.Primary Function: To provide a robust, waterproof barrier that bridges hairline cracks and withstands weather exposure. Its key advantage is that it can often be applied directly onto existing sound surfaces without the need for demolition, saving time and cost.Key Features & Benefits (from TDS):High-Build & Fibre-Reinforced: Achieves a thick, tough film in fewer coats (approx. 1mm DFT in 3 coats).Direct Application: Can be applied on sound existing concrete, brickbat coba, or screed without removal.No Protection Screed Needed: Eliminates the extra weight and cost of a protective concrete layer; it is final wearing surface for foot traffic.Breathable: Allows water vapour to escape from the structure.Weather & UV Resistant: Durable in all climates, with tested resistance to 1000 hours of UV radiation.Crack Bridging: Excellent elongation (100%) to accommodate minor substrate movement.Low Chloride Permeability: Protects the concrete structure from corrosion.Ideal Applications:Waterproofing old and new concrete roofs and terraces.Surfaces like existing concrete, brickbat coba, and screed.Packaging: 25 kg buckets.Questions & Answers (Q&A) Based on TDSQ1: Can this be applied directly over my old existing roof?A: Yes, provided the existing substrate (concrete, brickbat coba, screed) is sound and stable. All loose, spalled, or disintegrated material must be removed and repaired first. The surface must be clean and free of oil, grease, and dirt.Q2: What primer should I use?A: The TDS specifically recommends FloArm Primer EPW-44, a two-component epoxy-based primer. It has a pot life of 30 minutes once mixed and must be applied on a damp (SSD - Saturated Surface Dry) surface. The waterproofing coat is applied while the primer is still tacky.Q3: What is the coverage area?A: The consumption rate is 0.75 kg per square meter per coat. For the recommended 3-coat system, you will need 2.25 kg per square meter.Example: A 25 kg bucket will cover approximately 11 sq. meters for a 3-coat system (25 kg / 2.25 kg/m² = ~11.1 m²).Q4: How thick will the coating be?A: Three coats will achieve a Dry Film Thickness (DFT) of approximately 1 mm.Q5: What is the drying time between coats?A: The next coat can be applied once the previous coat is touch-dry. The recommended over-coating time is 8-12 hours at 27°C.Q6: Is this the final layer, or does it need a protection screed?A: This is a major benefit. AquaArm Roof Shield is designed to be the final layer and does not require a protection screed, eliminating extra weight and cost. It can withstand light foot traffic.Q7: What is the shelf life?A: 6 months from the date of manufacture in unopened, original packaging stored in a cool, dry place.Q8: What are the limitations?A:Do not apply during rain.The substrate must be in a damp (SSD) condition for priming.It is designed only for foot traffic, not for vehicular movement or heavy machinery.Q9: Is it safe?A: It is non-toxic and non-flammable. However, it is alkaline, so gloves and goggles should be worn during handling. Splashes should be washed off with clean water.
