Nirgundi Oil is a herbal medicated oil traditionally used in Ayurveda. The oil is usually prepared by infusing or distilling the leaves (and occasionally other parts) of Vitex negundo into a carrier oil (often sesame or coconut) or extracted as an essential/medicinal oil. The botanical is also called "five‑leafed chaste tree", "Nirgundi", "Nishinda", etc. Nirgundi Oil is used primarily externally (topically) for the following applications: Joint pain, muscle aches, stiffness, arthritis, rheumatism: It has anti‑inflammatory and analgesic effects that help ease Vata‑related joint conditions. Back pain, sciatica, nerve pain: Used in massage to relieve nerve stiffness. Respiratory support: In some usage it is applied for sinus congestion, bronchitis, coughs (via massage or steam with leaves/oil). Skin conditions: The oil is applied to skin to soothe inflammation, wounds, minor infections, help in skin texture. Relaxation & tension release: Massage with Nirgundi oil may support relaxation of body, reduce muscular tension and improve mobility.
