Compressed Air is allowed to pass through bottom of the PSA Tower where first it comes in to contact with the Bed of Activated Alumina having property to absorb the moisture content present in the air and make the compressed air dried. Now this dried air comes in to contact with the bed of Carbon Molecular. Mainly Oxygen is absorbed on Carbon Molecular Sieve and Nitrogen Enriched Gas is leaving the adsorber tower. The two towers are in cyclic process having normally 1+1 minutes. So at a time one tower should be under nitrogen production cycle, whereas the other tower undergoes regeneration which is achieved through depressurization of the tower to atmospheric pressure. The Pure Nitrogen stored in Nitrogen Storage tank and then used as per process requirement. For Higher purity more than 99.999% requirements, Additional Purification system either Palladium Based De-oxo OR Copper Based De-Oxo system should be used as per Process requirements.
