Extraction The oil is extracted from leaves using steam distillation process.Chemical Composition seed cotyledons (86%), monoterpenes (70%) constituting -pinene (52%), cis-ß-ocimene (34%). Essential Oil InformationAlso known by common names of Curry Leaves, the oil is extracted from a small bush native to India and is present everywhere except higher levels of Himalayas. Here, the leaves parts are distilled to extract oil from plant. Oil PropertiesThe oil has colorless to pale yellow clear liquid with sweet and spicy aroma. Having a bitter tone characteristic, it is soluble in alcohols, essential oils and insoluble in water. Uses The oil is used in meeting the treatment demands of diabetes, skin maintenance, hair loss.Therapeutic PropertiesIt helps in curing disorders like infertility, nausea, dysentery. Further, it is also helpful in lowering blood pressure, night-blindness and serious malady like hepatitis. Blends Well Withß-gurjunene (1.9), ß-elemene (0.6), ß-caryophyllene (2.6ppm), ß-phellandrene (0.5), ß-bisabolene (0.3), ß-thujene (0.4), a-selinene (0.3), ß-trans-ocimene and ß-cadinene (0.2ppm). Summary The oil is mainly identified as culinary oil and is used in food preparations. Other than this, it is also useful for treating cases of diabetes, maintaining skin natural pigmentation and hair loss.
