Extraction This oil is extracted by the process of Steam DistillationChemical Composition alpha-pinene (ratio, 0.22%), camphene (0.06%), beta-myrcene (5.33%), p-cymene (0.3%), limonene (1.06%), cineol (0.51%), linalool (26.12%), borneol (1.21%), terpinene-4-ol (4.64%), linalyl acetate (26.32%), geranyl acetate (2.14%) and caryophyllene (7.55%) Essential Oil Information Lavender oil is extracted from Lavandula angustifolia of the Lamiaceae family. It is also known as garden, common or English lavender. Oil Properties This oil has light fresh aroma and is clear in color and watery in viscosity. Uses This oil has a soothing and calming effect on the nerves, relieving tension, depression, panic, hysteria and nervous exhaustion in general and is effective for headaches, migraines and insomnia. It is also very beneficial for problems such as bronchitis, asthma, colds, laryngitis, halitosis, throat infections and whooping cough and helps the digestive system deal with colic, nausea, vomiting and flatulence. This oil relieves pain when used for rheumatism, arthritis, lumbago and muscular aches and pains. Therapeutic Properties Antiseptic, analgesic, anti-convulsant, anti-depressant, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, bactericide, carminative, cholagogue, cicatrisant, cordial, cytophylactic, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, emmenagogue, hypotensive, nervine, rubefacient, , sudorific and vulnerary. Blends Well With Cedarwood, clary sage, geranium, pine, nutmeg and all the citrus oils. Summary The oil of Lavender MB 40/42 is a blend of several lavenders. It is the most common lavender essential oil used by soap and candle makers and is the scent that most people associate with lavender. It is usually the most inexpensive variety as well.
