Silicone rubber may be cured by a platinum-catalyzed cure system, a condensation cure system, a peroxide cure system, or an oxime cure system. For the platinum-catalyzed cure system, the curing process can be accelerated by adding heat or pressure.The temperature to cure the silicone can be anywhere between 50t and 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and there needs to be between 5 and 95 percent humidity for the silicone to properly cure. It can take as little as 24 hours to cure, but a thick application of sealant can take longer, sometimes up to 48 hours.
