It is known for its moderate strength, toughness, and good wear resistance. Properties: Hardness: P20 steel is typically sold pre-hardened with a hardness of about 300 HBW. Chemical composition: P20 steel contains chromium, molybdenum, and nickel. Machining: P20 steel has good machining ability, even when hardened and tempered. Polished finish: P20 steel can be polished to a high finish. Uses: Plastic molds: P20 steel is commonly used to make plastic injection mold cavities. Die casting dies: P20 steel is used to make die casting dies for zinc. Tooling: P20 steel is used in a variety of tooling applications. Other names: AISI P20 steel plate, DIN 1.2311 steel, SCM4 steel, and 3Cr2Mo steel.
