Product Details
HDPE Stub End (also called an HDPE Flange Adapter) is a short length of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe that has one end flared outwards to form a flange face. It is used with a metal or HDPE backing ring to create a flanged joint for connecting HDPE pipelines to valves, pumps, or other pipeline equipment. Key Features: Material: High-Density Polyethylene (PE100 / PE80). Design: One end for butt fusion welding to the HDPE pipe; the other end forms a flanged connection with a backing ring. Finish: Smooth inner bore for low friction and high flow efficiency. Size Range: Available from 20 mm to 630 mm (or customized sizes). Pressure Rating: PN 6, PN 10, PN 16, and PN 20. Color: Usually black with blue identification stripes. Applications: Water supply and distribution networks Irrigation and agricultural pipelines Industrial fluid and chemical transport Sewage and wastewater systems Connecting HDPE pipelines to steel or PVC systems Advantages: Corrosion and chemical resistant. Lightweight yet high strength. Leak-proof and durable when properly fused. Easy to install, remove, and reassemble. Long service life with minimal maintenance. How It Works: The stub end is butt-fused to the HDPE pipe, and a metal backing ring (flange ring) is slipped over the flared end. This allows the joint to be bolted to another flanged component — providing a strong, detachable connection without needing a full welded joint.
