Real Presence Sensor – Brief Description A Real Presence Sensor is an advanced occupancy sensor designed to detect the actual presence of a person within a space, even when there is very little movement. Unlike conventional motion sensors, it can identify micro-movements such as breathing, slight body movements, or hand movements, ensuring that the lighting or connected equipment remains ON while the area is occupied. Working Principle The sensor continuously monitors the area using technologies such as microwave radar, ultrasonic waves, or advanced infrared detection. When a person enters the detection zone, the sensor activates the connected load (such as lighting or HVAC systems). It can detect very small movements and confirm that the person is still present. Once the area becomes vacant for the preset delay period, the sensor switches OFF or dims the connected load automatically. Features Detects both occupancy and true presence. Senses micro-movements, not just large body movements. Adjustable detection range and time delay. Supports ON/OFF or dimming control. Improves user comfort by preventing unwanted switching OFF.
