Modular belt conveyor are a middle ground between belt conveyors and chain conveyors. A modular belt consists of individual plastic modules usually linked together with joint rods. This modular belt is driven by chain sockets; the base frame of the conveyor is constructed on standard profile supports.Plastic modular belts are low tension systems, which allows for the use of fewer pulleys. This means a less complex system and reduced installation costs. The low-tension belts also cut down on wear to bearings and ancillary components, extending product life and lowering maintenance costs.A modular belt conveyor is a flat belt conveyor and is made up of individual plastic or steel modules usually linked together using joint rods.
