Hastelloy pipe is a type of pipe made from Hastelloy, a registered trademark of Haynes International, Inc., for a series of high-performance alloys that are known for their excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and versatility in demanding environments. The most commonly used Hastelloy grades for piping applications include Hastelloy C-276, Hastelloy C-22, and Hastelloy B-2. Key Features of Hastelloy Pipe: Material Composition: Hastelloy alloys primarily consist of nickel, with varying amounts of chromium, molybdenum, and other elements depending on the specific grade. Hastelloy C-276: Contains nickel (57%), molybdenum (15%), chromium (15%), and tungsten. Hastelloy C-22: Similar to C-276 but with enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Hastelloy B-2: Contains a higher percentage of molybdenum, making it highly resistant to hydrochloric acid. Corrosion Resistance: Hastelloy pipes are exceptionally resistant to a wide range of corrosive environments, including acidic and alkaline conditions, making them ideal for chemical processing applications.
