This process results in the formation of a dense and resilient oxide layer, known as an anodic coating, providing superior corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and electrical insulation properties. Coating Thickness: The oxide layer produced through hard anodizing is notably thicker, typically ranging from 25 to 150 micrometers (microns), compared to conventional anodizing processes. Applications: Hard anodizing finds extensive use in industries requiring heightened wear resistance, hardness, and corrosion resistance for aluminum components, including aerospace, automotive, and electronics sectors.
