A pipe extrusion line consists of different parts. An extruder converts raw plastic material into a continuous tubular melt by extrusion through an annular die. The molten pipe then proceeds through a sizing or calibration bench (which adjust its dimensions) to a cooling tank.Plastics extrusion is a normally high volume manufacturing process where a polymer material, enriched with the desired additives, is melted and formed in a continuous process. The raw material (polymer) in the form of granulates, is gravity fed into the hopper and through the feed throat, drops on a rotating screw.Extrusion is a process where a material undergoes plastic deformation by the application of a force causing that material to flow through an orifice or die. The material adopts the cross-sectional profile of the die and if the material has suitable properties, that shape is retained in the final extrudate.
