Rainout shelters are designed to protect a certain area of land against receiving precipitations so that an experimentally controlled drought stress can be imposed on that area. Many types of rainout shelters were designed and used, with better or lesser results.The rainout shelters are very useful for creating drought by excluding natural precipitation from the plots. The rainout shelters incorporate sensitive rain sensors that activate electric motors to move the shelters along tracks pulled by a chain drive to cover the crop during a rain event.Its primary purpose is to give us water to drink. During a downpour, rain seeps into the ground to become part of rivers and lakes, or what is called ground water. Without rainwater constantly replenishing our ground water sources, water would be a lot scarcer that it already is right now.
