Raychem RSTI (Screened Separable Connectors) from TE Connectivity are touch-proof, medium-voltage terminations designed to connect polymeric cables to switchgear, transformers, and ring main units (RMU). These systems are "touch-proof" because they feature a conductive outer screen permanently bonded to the insulation, which is connected to earth to prevent accidental contact with high voltage.Key Specifications & Series Voltage Range: Systems are available for voltage classes from 12 kV to 42 kV. Current Ratings: Generally rated for 800 A or 1250 A, depending on the bushing interface (Interface C1 or C2). Material: Constructed from high-tracking-resistance, non-flammable silicone rubber. RSTI-58 Series: Designed for connections up to 24 kV and 800 A, covering cable cross-sections from 25 to 300 . RSTI-68 Series: Designed for systems up to 42 kV and 800 A. RSTI-Large Series: Specialized for larger cross-sections (400–800 ) and up to 1250 A at 42 kV. Technical Features Capacitive Test Point: Located on a removable rear plug to safely check if the circuit is energized or for phasing. Bushing Compatibility: Fully compatible with standardized Interface C bushings as per EN 50180 and EN 50181. Compact Design: The space-saving profile allows for double "T" (parallel) connections within standard terminal boxes. Range-Taking Lugs: Kits typically include high-performance mechanical shear bolt lugs that work with both Aluminum (Al) and Copper (Cu) conductors.
