The Raychem RSTI-6855 "Size 3" is a high-voltage, screened separable T-connector kit designed for 33 kV (up to 42 kV) applications. The "Size 3" designation typically refers to the inner cone bushing compatibility, although this specific model is most commonly associated with Interface C (630A/1250A) standardized bushings. Core Specifications Voltage Class: Rated for systems up to 42 kV. Cable Range: Fits conductor cross-sections from 185 mm² to 300 mm². Current Rating: Continuous current support up to 800 A (or up to 1250 A with specific copper conductor upgrades). Insulation: Made of highly modified, track-resistant silicone rubber. Compatibility: Designed for use with XLPE polymeric insulated cables, both single and three-core. Key Features Touch-Proof Design: Features a permanently bonded conductive outer screen that, when grounded, makes the connector safe to touch even during operation. Compact Installation: Engineered with small cut-back dimensions to fit into tight terminal boxes in modern compact switchgear and Ring Main Units (RMU). Capacitive Test Point: Includes an easily accessible rear plug for verifying if the circuit is energized or for phasing. Mechanical Technology: Usually supplied with mechanical shear bolt lugs (part number RSTI-6855), making it compatible with both Aluminum and Copper conductors without needing specialized crimping tools.
