Reverse osmosis is the process of forcing a solvent from a region of high solute concentration through a membrane to a region of low solute concentration by applying a pressure in excess of the osmotic pressure.Reverse osmosis is the process or the technology which is used to remove ions, mineral chemicals, and other impurities from drinking water. In this process, greater pressure is applied, forcing the water to travel through the semipermeable membrane in opposite to natural osmosis.There are two types of RO plants; one is the domestic RO plant made to suit the needs at a smaller level. The second is the commercial/industrial RO plant made to suit water needs at a more significant level like schools, hospitals, etc.
