Product Details
A Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant is an advanced water purification system designed to remove dissolved salts, minerals, impurities, suspended particles, microorganisms, and other unwanted contaminants from water. It works on the principle of reverse osmosis, a membrane-based filtration process in which water is passed through a semi-permeable membrane under high pressure. The membrane allows purified water molecules to pass through while rejecting most dissolved salts and impurities.RO plants are widely used in residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, food processing, healthcare, power generation, and drinking water treatment applications. They provide a reliable and efficient method of producing clean, safe, and high-quality water from different sources, including borewell water, groundwater, municipal water, river water, and seawater.Working Principle of Reverse OsmosisReverse Osmosis works by reversing the natural process of osmosis. In natural osmosis, water moves from a region of lower dissolved salt concentration to a region of higher dissolved salt concentration through a semi-permeable membrane. In a reverse osmosis system, external pressure greater than the osmotic pressure is applied to the feed water. This pressure forces water molecules through the membrane, leaving behind dissolved salts, heavy metals, chemicals, and other contaminants.he RO membrane separates the incoming water into two streams:Permeate Water: The purified water that passes through the membrane.Reject Water (Concentrate): The water containing concentrated dissolved salts and rejected impurities.Main Components of an RO PlantAn industrial or commercial RO plant consists of several important components that work together to ensure effective water purification.1. Raw Water Storage Tank: Stores the untreated water received from the source before it enters the treatment process.2. Feed Water Pump: Transfers raw water from the storage tank to the pretreatment system at the required pressure.3. Pressure Sand Filter (PSF): Removes suspended particles, dust, mud, and other visible impurities from the water.4. Activated Carbon Filter (ACF): Removes chlorine, organic compounds, unpleasant taste, odour, and certain chemical impurities.5. Water Softener: Reduces water hardness by removing calcium and magnesium ions, helping prevent scaling on RO membranes.6. Micron Cartridge Filter: Removes fine suspended particles and protects the RO membranes from physical damage and clogging.7. High-Pressure Pump: Increases the feed water pressure to the level required for the reverse osmosis process.8. RO Membranes: These are the most important components of the system. They separate purified water from dissolved salts and other contaminants.9. Membrane Pressure Vessels: Hold and protect the RO membranes while allowing water to flow through them under pressure.10. Flow Meters and Pressure Gauges: Monitor water flow, operating pressure, and system performance.11. Control Panel: Controls and monitors the operation of pumps, valves, sensors, and safety systems.12. Chemical Dosing System: Adds suitable chemicals such as antiscalants, pH adjustment chemicals, or other treatment agents when required.13. Product Water Storage Tank: Stores the purified water produced by the RO plant for further use.14. Post-Treatment System: May include UV sterilization, remineralization, pH correction, or additional filtration depending on the intended water application.
