An RRL hose stands for Reinforced Rubber Lined hose. It is a high-performance fire delivery hose specifically engineered to handle high pressure without leaking or "sweating." Unlike older canvas hoses that were designed to "percolate" (ooze water to keep the hose cool), RRL hoses are non-percolating, meaning all the water is directed out of the nozzle.

CP Hose: Designed to "sweat" water through the jacket. This creates a thin film of water on the outside of the hose, which protects the fabric from burning when it has to be dragged through hot embers or near high radiant heat (like in forest fires or coal mines).

The "Dutch Roll": Hoses are often rolled from the center out (with both couplings on the outside) to allow for rapid deployment without kinks.
