Key Features of a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus:-
Air Supply: An SCBA provides a reliable source of clean, breathable air. It consists of a high-pressure air tank, typically mounted on the back or waist of the wearer, which supplies air to the mask or facepiece.

Facepiece or Mask: The facepiece is a crucial part of the SCBA. It covers the wearer’s nose and mouth (or the entire face) to provide a sealed connection for air to flow from the tank. The mask also often has a communication system and may include a visor for protection.

Air Tank: The air tank is the primary source of breathable air for the wearer. The tank is usually made from lightweight, high-strength materials like carbon composite or aluminum. The size of the tank dictates how long the wearer can use the apparatus before needing to be replaced or refilled.

Regulator: The regulator controls the flow of air from the tank to the wearer, ensuring a consistent and safe airflow to the mask. It typically includes a pressure gauge to monitor the air supply.

Alarm System: Many modern SCBAs include an alarm that sounds when the air supply is running low, typically when about 25% of the tank’s air supply remains. This alerts the user that it is time to exit the hazardous area.
