A ripsaw (or rip saw) is a wood saw that is specially designed for making a rip cut, a cut made parallel to the direction of the wood grain.The Rip Saw is used to rip timber into smaller straight sections to satisfy your cutting list and minimise the waste in each piece for further processing operations. The Rip Saw is an invaluable machine for any workshop and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes.A ripsaw, or ripping saw, is a specialized handsaw for manually cutting wood in the direction of the grain. Ripsaws include a blade and a plastic or hardwood handle. The blade edge below the handle is the heel and the front end is the toe. The typical ripsaw is 26 inches in length with 5 teeth or points per inch.
