Rolling Margin is calculated as under:- Total Weight of Bars (Dia wise) / Total Running Metre of Bars = Actual Sectional Weight of bars. Compare sectional weight with Standard IS Weight. Weight as per IS Standard = Dia x Dia / 162. Rolling margin is the difference between the theoretical and actual weight of steel. To find out the mass of steel per metre square, the formula is D*D/162. D is the diameter of the bar in metres and the mass will be calculated in kilograms. Where W is the weight of the bar in kg, D is the diameter of the bar in mm, and L in the length of the bar in metres.
