A Shim Selection Bench for selective assembly to enable selection of a correct sized part which will go into a assembly to achieve desired characteristic in the final assembly.Shim Selection Bench will measure dimensions of 2 sub assemblies within micron level tolerances and calculates correct size of the 3rd component which will go into the final assembly. For easy identification of the part to be picked, a light will glow above the correct bin in the rack which contain different sizes of the parts pre assorted.LVDTs used to measure dimensions of sub assemblies. Poke Yoke incorporated to ensure operator picks correct sized part for final assembly.
