Micro Silica Powder, or Silica Fume, is a highly reactive pozzolanic material composed primarily of ultrafine silicon dioxide (SiO₂) particles. It is collected as a by-product of silicon and ferrosilicon alloy production in electric arc furnaces. The particle size is about 100 times smaller than cement, allowing it to fill voids and significantly improve the microstructure of concrete.Advanced Benefits in Concrete: Pozzolanic Reaction: Reacts with free lime (Ca(OH)₂) to form additional C-S-H gel, improving strength and durability. Packing Effect: Fills voids between cement particles, creating a denser matrix. Durability Enhancement: Increases resistance to chloride ingress, freeze-thaw, alkali-silica reaction (ASR), and chemical attacks. Sustainability: Reduces cement consumption and enhances the performance of green concrete.
