The SKN Single-Phase Oil Submersible Panel is a heavy-duty control unit, historically designed for the direct starting and protection of single-phase oil-immersed submersible pump motors (1HP to 5HP). The "Oil Submersible" designation refers to the older, robust design where the starter components (contactor, thermal overload relay, and capacitor) were submerged in oil inside a metal tank for enhanced cooling and insulation. It features essential protection against overload and single-phasing (loss of one phase). While modern SKN panels often use Air-Break or microcontroller-based solid-state technology for protection, the term signifies a reliable, durable system for agricultural and domestic water pumping applications
