An electric bread slicer is a kitchen tool used for quickly and uniformly slicing bread loaves. The majority of slicers are industrial-sized, and are used in bakeries. Smaller bread slicers are designed for home use, though most are sold as all-purpose machines capable of handling a variety of foods.Even the most fancy organic bread flour (for example this mix) is only £2 for 1.5kg, so about 66p a loaf. Therefore long term making home-made bread will work out cheaper than all but the most basic shop-bought loaves.
