The SK Carbide End Mill for Hardened Steel 68 HRC is a top-of-the-line, ultra-performance milling cutter engineered specifically for machining extremely tough materials in their fully hardened state, primarily used in applications like mold and die making. Constructed from premium, micro-grain solid tungsten carbide, the tool provides the necessary rigidity and heat resistance to cut materials up to 68 on the Rockwell C scale. Its performance is critically enhanced by an advanced Nano Coating (often an AlTiN or similar nanocomposite) which forms a high-thermal barrier, drastically reducing wear and allowing for high-speed, efficient dry-machining while maintaining a superior surface finish. To counteract the intense forces and vibrations of hard milling, the geometry is specialized, typically featuring multiple flutes (four or more) and a reinforced core for maximum stability and chatter suppression.
