The SKF Linear Rail Guides are designed for linear movement and include rails and carriages that are selected according to the user's application. Since the balls within linear carriages are continuously circulating, linear profiled guides are suitable for a practically unlimited number of strokes. All SKF linear technology products are designed for modular assemblies. Therefore, individual components, such as guides, carriages or accessories from the same series, can be arbitrarily combined to allow easy adjustment to various linear guiding applications. SKF offers 3 different types of linear rail guides: LLT series X-laying rail guides, O-laying LLR profiled guides and miniature profiled guides.

• Ball profile rail guides
Ball profile guide rail and profile rail bearing are widely spread in many industries and are nearly used for any linear guide application. They are equipped with 4 rows of ball-bearings at right angles. Thanks to the X arrangement with rails and carriages (block), larger differences in height can also be made up. This superior design ensures reliable and friction-free operation of a linear motion system.
 
• Linear bearings, units and shaftsLinear ball bearings (also called ball bushings or shaft guides) are cost-effective and widely used linear guide systems used in a variety of applications. The guiding principle consists of three elements: linear ball bearings, bearing housings and precision shafts. The wide range of diameters combined with the different types of bearings, housings and shafts make it easy to use and flexible to design in. 

• Miniature profile rail guides
Miniature profile rail guides are made for applications requiring compact, high running accuracy, long service life and low noise. SKF LLS systems offer extremely smooth running behaviour. The robust ball retention system avoids surprises during mounting.

The SKF Series LLU Roller Guides are perfect for use in heavy industries, for example: processing metal machines, automation, plastic injection or material processing. High stiffness, high dynamic and static load capacity, outstanding handling and efficient sealing of the SKF linear carriage are the advantages that make LLUs suitable for such applications. In addition, it is necessary to mention the high accuracy of the LLU Rail Guides themselves. The LLU guides are available in four classes of precision (rails parallelism of 7 μm/4000 mm) and two pre-loading classes. There are four different models of rail carriages and four different rails.

SKF manufactures LLT profile rail guides in an X-arrangement with a 45° contact angle between the rolling elements and raceways. This design promotes equal load sharing in all four main load directions to provide greater design flexibility. Moreover, deviations in parallelism and height, which usually occur in multi-axis systems, can be compensated for more efficiently, resulting in reliable and smooth operation under a variety of operating conditions. 

SKF Linear BearingsThe Linear Ball Bearing (also called the ball linear bushing) consists of a polymer cage with segments of guiding paths made of hardened steel, which guide the balls throughout the system. Ball circling provides unlimited low-friction strokes. SKF linear ball bearings are available in two versions: the LBBR series (ISO series 1) and the LBC series (ISO 3 series), which is interchangeable with other SKF linear ball bushings. SKF linear ball bearings are also available in various assemblies with lightweight aluminum housings.
