The EV2 Test (also known as the Dynamic Plate Load Test) is a method used to evaluate the bearing capacity and deformation properties of soils and sub-bases in construction projects. This test plays a crucial role in road construction, airfields, railways, and large-scale civil engineering works, helping ensure a stable and durable foundation. During the test, a circular plate is placed on the surface and subjected to incremental loading. The resulting settlements are measured at each stage to assess soil compaction, stiffness, and load-bearing capacity. The EV2 value is derived from the second loading cycle, indicating the modulus of deformation and the ground's ability to sustain repeated loads without significant settling.
