Soya chunks are made from defatted soya flour. You can use them to make a plethora of soya recipes right from breakfast, snacks to main course. They are also commonly known as soya badi, Soya wadi, Soya bari and Soya nugget.Soya chunks are made using soy flour that has been 'defatted' or the oil is removed. They are the byproducts left after extracting soybean oil and have a rough texture when left dry. The texture quickly changes to soft and spongy as soon as submerged in warm water or added to gravySoya flour or soybean can both be used as raw material.Soya chunks or also popularly known as meal maker is a textured or texturized vegetable protein which is also known as textured soy protein or soya meat or a nutritious meat extender made from defatted soy flour, a by-product of extracting soybean oil.The soybean is an erect branching plant and can reach more than 2 metres (6.5 feet) in height. The self-fertilizing flowers are white or a shade of purple. Seeds can be yellow, green, brown, black, or bicoloured, though most commercial varieties have brown or tan seeds, with one to four seeds per pod.
