SS 304 flange refers to a type of flange made from stainless steel grade 304, which is one of the most commonly used stainless steel alloys. This grade is known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Key Features of SS 304 Flange: Material Composition: SS 304 is primarily composed of: Chromium: 18% Nickel: 8% Carbon: 0.08% max Manganese: 2% max Silicon: 1% max Phosphorus: 0.045% max Sulfur: 0.03% max The high chromium and nickel content provides excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Corrosion Resistance: SS 304 flanges are highly resistant to a variety of corrosive environments, including acidic and alkaline conditions. They perform well in both indoor and outdoor applications. Mechanical Properties: Tensile Strength: Approximately 70 ksi (480 MPa). Yield Strength: Around 30 ksi (205 MPa). Elongation: About 40% in 8 inches, indicating good ductility.
