A three-way plug valve is a type of valve used for diverting or mixing the flow of fluid in a piping system. The "SS 316" designation refers to the material of construction, which is stainless steel grade 316. The term "flanged" indicates the type of end connection used on the valve. Flanged connections involve the use of flanges, which are flat, circular discs with holes for bolts. These flanges are attached to the valve body, and the mating flanges on the pipeline are bolted together, creating a secure connection. A flanged three-way plug valve typically has three ports or openings: an inlet, an outlet, and a bypass port. By rotating the plug inside the valve body, the flow can be diverted between the different ports. The plug usually has a through hole, which aligns with the desired port to allow fluid to pass through.
